Now, I love skincare as much as the next beauty junkee, and I’ve tried and tested loads of products before. Because of this, it might come as a shock to you that my daily skincare routine only consists of 3-4 products. My routine is completely streamlined, and honestly, my skin has never looked better. I was able to reduce the number of products I use on my face by clearly telling myself what my skin needs: hydration and acne prevention.
I’m not picky about my daily cleanser; I usually just use something that has Salicylic Acid in it. This ingredient is really good for acne. After I wash my face, I go over it with toner, and I use the Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3. I’ve loved this toner for years, and even though I like to try different ones, I always go back to this because it really helps prevent breakouts by gently exfoliating dead skin and getting rid of dirt and toxins from the face.
Just like my cleanser, I’m not too picky about my eye cream either. I tend to look for ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid because it’s extremely hydrating without being too heavy. Right now, I’m using the Garnier SkinActive Miracle Anti-Fatigue Eye Gel Cream. It’s very light and absorbs into the skin quickly. It also sits well under makeup.
To moisturize my face, I use the Josie Maran Argan Oil. I have combination skin, so my nose and forehead tend to get a bit oily. You make ask, “Then why are you using an oil as your moisturizer?” Well, I find that the more I moisturize and nourish my skin, the less sebum I produce. I don’t get as oily as I would whenever I’d use a lightweight lotion or a mattifying moisturizer. Sometimes I switch it up with Virgin Coconut Oil, especially if I feel like I need more hydration.
Sometimes I leave my routine at that, especially at night, but during the day, I like to use my VMV Hypoallergenics Armada Sport 70 Sunscreen. It has a great texture and it doesn’t leave my face feeling greasy or sticky. I also love how high the SPF is.
That’s it for my daily skincare routine! Of course, I like to mix it up a couple of times a week with different masks and treatments, but I’ll leave that for another post.
